Shafak is considered one of the leading organizations in the agricultural sector in particular and in the Food Security and Livelihoods Program in general, as it has worked to recruit specialized and experienced cadres in this field, whether at the field level or at the management level, and Shafak has also worked to qualify new graduates and engineers who do not have experience in Organizational work, either by hiring them on daily contracts or by subjecting them to specialized training courses.

Shafak conducted several questionnaires to assess the needs of the organization’s work areas within the agricultural sector, and accordingly, several projects were intervened, including the value chain of the wheat crop and the value chain of olives, in addition to the cultivation of summer and winter vegetable crops and the cultivation of home gardens.

Through the food security sector, we seek to secure the minimum requirements for a decent life that befit our people in Syria. We also set our eyes on the families affected by the conflict, and direct our focus on people who are unable to produce enough food and income, and who do not have the necessary means to obtain The minimum requirements for a decent life.

We work through our specialized teams to provide direct food support using cash, vouchers and in-kind methods, as well as emergency food aid, which we are quick to secure to meet the needs of the displaced, and provide food to hard-to-reach areas.

We in Shafak aim through this sector to improve the lives of families and their food consumption, and to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable groups. We also strive to break the cycle of poverty by securing the resources necessary to generate income, as well as providing sustainable livelihoods for current and future generations and enhancing their well-being, including Equitable sharing and sharing of benefits arising from the implemented projects, as well as focusing on activating the role of agriculture and supporting agricultural production, and encouraging farmers to preserve and invest their assets in a way that benefits the individual and society.

With the presence of specialists in our teams, we continue to implement infrastructure and reconstruction projects, as well as road repairs and lighting. We also do not overlook the role of community teams’ participation to represent different classes and groups of people and stakeholders.
