In Shafak, we strive to adopt a societal approach that empowers the most vulnerable groups in societies, and we work to generalize protection and focus on the safety and dignity of individuals and families in society.
Our specialized teams continue to provide support to the issues of children and women affected psychologically by sexual violence and mental health cases. Therefore, Shafak organization, in coordination with international partners, dedicates an important part of its work space to empower these groups and reduce the danger resulting from crises and create a space of hope that allows them to live in safety, as well as We are in Shafak and through the protection sector, we attach great importance to women and give them the right to make decisions and support them to work on building the capacities of community members.

The child is the weakest group in the local communities and the most affected, so this sector works to provide psychosocial support services, case management, awareness and reunification services through child-friendly centers and mobile teams, where the focus is on vulnerable children who suffer from psychological conditions or children who suffer From abuse or physical violence or working children, in addition to children separated from their parents.

The targeted groups within this sector are men, women, boys and girls. The services provided by the sector are directed to the internally displaced in the local and host communities. In this context, the sector provides two community centers in the city of Idlib supported by mobile teams covering the city of Idlib and Azaz targeting all segments of society with psychological support, awareness and entertainment activities. In addition to vocational training and capacity building of workers, the sector projects also provide legal advice, comprehensive case management services for gender-based violence, child protection, the Young Mothers Club program, and the awareness bag program for men and males, in addition to supporting the target groups with in-kind materials, then the sector projects provide activities for people with special needs.

This sector aims to educate the community about the dangers of gender-based violence, as the sector’s projects provide a safe space for women and girls, such as the Reproductive Health Center project in the city of Maarat Misrin in Idlib, where the center was supported by a mobile team covering the city of Maarat Misrin and the surrounding camps. From the age of 12 years, he is involved in prevention activities, which include psychological support sessions, awareness, recreational activities, response activities for survivors of gender-based violence, activities of focused psychological support sessions, and the Young Mothers Club. The sector provides a project of family planning sessions, which includes life skills activities and vocational training for women, girls and people with special needs, in addition to providing awareness and recreational activities.

The sector’s projects aim to raise awareness of the remnants of war, especially children, children and their families in schools and in local communities through awareness sessions and the distribution of brochures and leaflets, in addition to survey activities for remnants of war in areas that have been bombed or where mines have been planted, where these areas are identified and warning signs are placed around them warning and calling To the need not to approach in order to preserve the lives and safety of the people. Finally, the sector’s projects aim to assist the victims and their families who were subjected to bombing or explosions from the remnants of war. Referral services are provided to service providers, in addition to integrating these victims into economic and social empowerment programs through the rehabilitation and training of beneficiaries, especially those with special needs, professionally, to be effective and productive in society. These projects also provide Financial grants for beneficiaries, especially for people with special needs, after undergoing industrial and vocational training in order to improve their financial situation and integrate them into the communities in which they live.
