Public Protection: The sector responsible for providing at-risk individuals in targeted communities with protection information and access to relevant protection services. The targeted individuals in this sector are: Men, women, boys, girls in local and host communities.
Shafak organization is currently implementing many public protection projects in the city of Idlib and Maarrat Misrin in addition to Harem, and the person responsible for implementing these projects is divided into fixed teams, mobile teams and case management teams, where these teams are able to provide psychological first aid and case management, and the number of targets during the years has reached The last five are ninety thousand.
The protection sector aims to raise community awareness of protection issues and share information with the local community, respond to child protection cases and cases of gender-based violence, in addition to providing safe spaces for capacity building with all age groups in community centers, where there is an ambitious action plan that is updated periodically. , commensurate with the needs of the target groups and in this context some of the activities that are currently being implemented:
- Awareness-raising sessions on both child protection and gender-based violence
- Psychosocial support sessions and recreational activities.
- Professional activities that build capacities of vulnerable groups and refine their skills.
- Respond to cases of individuals with protection risks through case management.
- Providing psychological first aid to individuals and linking them to available services.
- Providing legal advice through individual and group awareness sessions.
