Shafak launched raise awareness project of the dangers of remnants of war, through which we worked to provide adequate awareness to the local population and the displaced in local and host communities to reduce the threats and risks of remnants of war that spread in the areas of northern Syria.
The project provides sufficient awareness for the local population and the displaced in the local and host communities to reduce the threats and risks of the remnants of war that spread in the northern regions of Syria. It also provides medical, financial and social assistance to the affected and provides many activities in this context, including: distributing bribes, posters, bags and sterilizers to beneficiaries, providing humanitarian workers Such as teachers and workers in humanitarian organizations in the targeted areas with specialized training to raise awareness of the dangers of war remnants, contributing to activating the full referral between the different sectors in the targeted areas, rehabilitating and training the beneficiaries, especially those with disabilities, professionally to be effective and productive in society, in addition to providing financial grants to the beneficiaries, especially for people with disabilities Special needs after undergoing vocational and industrial training. It also provides advisory courses in agriculture and livestock for survivors of war remnants.
Project activities include:
- Activities in the field of awareness of the dangers of remnants of war among the host and displaced communities through awareness sessions directed to men, women, children and adults.
- Training of trainers in the field of awareness of the dangers of remnants of war for more than 18 local and international organizations and training of child protection networks with specialized trainings to raise awareness of the dangers of remnants of war.
- Identifying explosive remnants of war, to reduce accidents, increase community resilience, enhance security, and reduce risks to refugees and displaced persons through awareness messages.
- Conducting the improved phase in surveying villages and areas contaminated with explosive and non-explosive remnants of war.
- Collecting the accidents that occurred as a result of the war operations and classifying the survivors according to the type of injuries they sustained to help them through referrals, vocational training, providing agricultural and animal wealth consultations, granting small projects and making subsequent visits to monitor activity.
The project worked on:
- Reduce the risks of explosives and remnants of war on the communities most at risk through awareness sessions directed to all segments of society.
- Identify awareness messages against explosive remnants of war and learn how to maintain safety in areas contaminated with waste through campaigns and media.
- Increasing awareness of polluted or potentially dangerous areas including marking dangerous areas to reduce accidents.
- Labeling areas contaminated with explosive and unexploded remnants of war.
